Diluted platinum accelerator for P-Series silicones

General Information

P-588 is a diluted version of PT-Accel that is easier to weigh, measure and mix, and less expensive. It can be added to any P-Series silicone to dramatically speed its work and cure time at room temperature. This is useful where heat cannot be used to increase rates, such as with heat sensitive masters or very large molds. It must be mixed into the base before the activator is added. Each P-Series silicone reacts differently, so test a small batch to determine the appropriate level before mixing large amounts. P-588 can also be used to decrease the probability of inhibition: before making a mold, test a small patch by applying P-588 in a very thin layer to your master with a brush or cloth, allow the solvent to flash, then apply any catalyzed P-Series silicone.

33 minute work time, 240 minute demold and 7 hour cure at the lowest level tested, down to 13 minutes, 75 minutes and 3 hours at the highest. Untreated: 60 minute work time, 18 hour cure.
